Xiaomi Now Under the Apple and Samsung


Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi managed to overtake two other major vendors, LG and Huawei to become the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.

It was revealed by a recent report released by consulting firm Strategic Analytics, quoted KompasTekno of 9to5Google, Thursday (10/30/2014).

In the report, called the Xiaomi experiencing significant business growth. Boosted its market share from 2.1 percent in the third quarter 2013 and is now 5.6 per cent in the same period in 2014.

Nicks Xiaomi market share is only a narrow lead from the Korean manufacturer, LG has a notch in the report of 5.2 per cent market share in the global market.

Throughout the third quarter of 2014, called the Xiaomi has sent 18 million smartphones. While in the same period last year, the number of consignment of 5.2 million units.

Xiaomi business growth according to Strategic Analytics driven by sales of cheap devices in developing countries, such as China, India, and Indonesia. In that segment, Xiaomi has Redmi 1S series in Indonesia is sold at Rp 1.5 million.

Samsung and Apple still ranked first and second in the global smartphone market. Samsung's market share in the third quarter of 2014 was reported by 24.7 percent, while Apple's 12.3 percent.
